The natural beauty and relaxed yet colourful style of our latest muse Lily Yueng, is incredibly captivating. Shortly after our shoot in the hills of Malibu, Lily tells us a little about her beautiful heritage and her otherworldly travel plans.
Lily wears the Maalai Midi Dress and Essential One Piece throughout.
Where you are from and what is it that you do?
I am from southern California and I am currently a model and artist/designer, I mainly focus on sustainability and reconnecting to my heritage as a half Navajo and half Chinese woman.
What do you most enjoy about your work?
I love the process the most. Through intuitively creating I learn and grow as a person, which I find the most fulfilling
Women that inspire you?
My mom, Bjork, Iris Van Herpen, and Alia Meagan.
Favourite place you have travelled and 1 place you would love to visit?
Its so hard to say! But I love France especially the countryside it is just so romantic. I had an internship for a painter in a small village in Provence last summer and the landscape is just so awe inspiring and peaceful. As for future trips, I’ve dreamed of going to Iceland for quite sometime and renting a van to just roam around, it truly looks otherworldly just from photos I’ve seen.
What do pack in your carry-on when you travel?
Witch hazel toner, Dr. Bronner’s lavender hand sanitizer, a reusable bottle + utensils, lavender essential oil, and a silk sleeping mask.
How has your Navajo/ Chinese heritage reflected in your personal style?
I find I have a more of a connection to the colors of the land and essence of my heritage rather than literal costume and dress when it comes to my personal style.
Things you are grateful for:
-family and friends
-this beautiful planet and everything it provides for the body and soul
-a healthy body
-good music!
