Lauren Johnson is an LA based ceramic artist and model. We spoke with Lauren about how she is filling her new found time, her favourite destinations around the world and clay as a creative therapy.

Where are you from and what is it that you do?
I was born and raised in South Maplewood Minnesota, near Saint Paul and Woodbury. I have been a full time model for 11 years, ceramicist, and am currently working to obtain my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
What do you most enjoy about your work?
In each field I enjoy meeting people from different cultures who are ready to share their experiences with me. Although it can be draining, I have truly enjoyed the ability for my work to fly me around the world. I love to explore people and places alike.
Favourite place you have travelled and one place you would love to visit once we can travel again?
I have been all over, but my heart resonated most with Maui. I felt so connected to the land and the energy there is something that I always miss, and find myself "home" again when I return. Post Covid I would love to see friends in Europe again, and hopefully travel to China and Japan for the first time!
What do you always pack in your carry-on when you travel?
I have my carry-on packing on lock ! I always bring the following items: Reusable water bottle, melatonin, Herbal Resistance tincture, essential oil diffuser (with Doterra Frankincense or Saje stress release blend), energy bars/peanut butter packet, apple/orange, herbal tea bags, and my Malachite stone.
What are you listening to right now?
At this very moment I am listening to my sound bath playlist on Spotify, however I have been sifting through songs by Fabiano Do Nascimento!
Lauren is wearing the Rani Blouse in Blossom from part 2 of the Daisy Collection with the Etta Crochet High Waisted Bikini Bottom.
What is your favourite meal to make at home right now?
I have had zero desire to be fancy with food lately, but I am also a sucker for a simple Spanish rice bowl, or a vegan lasagna.
How has your routine changed or shifted since COVID?
I have way too much time and am actually overfilling it with things to do! I had no idea I could find more things to add to my to-do list, but I surprise myself haha! Pre Covid I was always traveling, and doing what I could in between jobs (like dentist appointments and ceramic orders). It was a game of 'catch me if you can'. Currently I am not traveling for work which has been a bummer, but I am able to grow my love of ceramics and really hone in on self care and self love. I am learning to slow down, and to be even more raw and unapologetically me! It's rad to feel yourself emotionally and spiritually grow!
Things you are grateful for:
Family and friends, my health and ability to stay healthy, my two cats (Onyx & Iggy), the ability to express millions of conflicting emotions through ceramics, and mama nature.
