In the sun's early lemon warmth
my body rests so softly
amongst light milk blankets
your arms under me
and your kiss is sleepy pink
Artist and musician Elle Burguez caught our eye with her beautiful detailed paintings and book of poetry a few years ago and we have been in love with her work ever since.
In-between painting a new body of works and launching a hemp t-shirt label, Elle has painted some styles from our Spring 2019 collection and shares below some inspiration and her love for a great summer playlist.
The Daisy Midi Dress in Blush and the Maalai One Piece.
What do you love about summer in Australia? Feeling calm and completely in the moment when going to Noosa beach with my loved ones and spending the day swimming or surfing and eating a picnic and then lazily going out to dinner with some wine and pizza. Those days are my favourite ways to spend my time and I wish I did it even more.
Your sources of inspiration? I find inspiration from so many things- consciously and subconsciously. Sometimes from lovely images I have seen, interior design, European films, architecture, nature, my imagination, travelling.
The Inika Mini Dress and Maalai High Waisted Bikini Bottom.
The Daisy Midi Dress in Marigold and Essentials in Sand.
How does music make you feel? Music drastically alters my mood- in a good way!! It can make me feel so joyous when playing spiritual Indian music, African music or just a fun dance song and then it can make me feel super inspired or in awe of the beauty of life and nature. I love it when a song moves me to tears.. it is one of the best feelings in the world.
Your thoughts on a summer playlist? The best part about a summer playlist is that if you listen to those songs in 10 years you will instantly be taken back to the memories you made.. the temperature in the air, the scents, the feeling you had in your heart and even the way you moved.
Elle has put together a beautiful playlist for us, listen along here.
